A message from Club Captain, Mike Gunton:
We have had a great season in 2023 and we are very much looking forward to 2024! We ran two teams in the Three Counties League in 2023 the Liphook Blues (1st team) and the Liphook Whites (2nd team) and this year, in 2024, I'm delighted to say that we will run a 3rd team by re entering the Liphook Reds.
Our Whites team provide a good experience of competitive bowls for our new bowlers who showed real progress in 2023. Whilst our Liphook Blues team were a sensation. The Blues gained promotion from Division 2 to Division 1 of the Three Counties League and went up as Division 2 Champions.
We also had a couple of good cup runs and in the Petersfield Cup a cup run that took us all the way to the final. I’m glad to say that the club victoriously lifted the Petersfield Cup trophy after defeating Division 1 team Midhurst Bowls Club on a sunny afternoon in early September.
Not only that but we had a Three Counties Mens Singles runner up in Dave Thurgood in 2023. I’m happy to say that our Open Triples Competition was well attended this year with 12 teams competing on a glorious afternoon in July and our friendly fixtures for 2023 saw us making friends with clubs throughout Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex.
